Grant County Young Professionals Network (GCYPN) is an association of the Marion-Grant County Chamber of Commerce and is an organization of professional minded people who have a focus to bring together a group of young high energy individuals for the purpose of collaboration, conversation, networking, and to promote leadership and sense of community though out Grant County.

Whether you are new to town or back from school, young professionals can help you meet local, career oriented people that share in the common interests of both advancing their careers and meeting new friends along the way. We are Attorneys, Insurance Agents, Realtors, Contractors, Hair Stylists, Brokers, Factory Managers, Hotel Managers, Teachers, Car Salesmen, Bankers, and more. We are the young, energetic group that is the future of our home, Grant County.

We like to have fun and enjoy ourselves. Our Monthly Mixer events are welcoming to everyone. This is one of the best social events for young professionals in the area.

Everyone in our group is committed to prospering the growth within Grant County, especially the growth of young professionals in the area.

Networking for your business, finding about local community events, and meeting friends are all goals of the Grant County Young Professionals Network.

Gary F. Tyler, former President of the Chamber of Commerce, wrote in November of 2001 this article in the Chronicle-Tribune newspaper.

"The need to attract young professionals to work and live in Grant County has long been an important issue faced by local businesses. As the result of the efforts made by a member of last year's Leadership Grant County class, Justin Wiley, Sarah Wilcox and Amie Marley, and Molly Lindsay, the Grant County Young Professionals Network has been established in cooperation with the Chamber. The mission of this new group is to bring young professionals of the Grant County area together, regardless of race, religion or political affiliation, to accomplish key objectives of promoting Grant County as a good place to work and live, providing a forum for young, ambitious and professional-minded people to network, providing a support system for young professionals moving back into or back to the area, and promoting involvement in community-based volunteer initiatives."

"The first meeting of this group was held on November 8^th at the Flying Pig Restaurant in downtown Marion. Between 55-60 attended this function. What started as an idea to get young professionals together to do something positive for our community and to promote living in the community has now taken root. Encouraged by the enthusiasm of that first meeting, a committee will look at developing projects and trips throughout the year for continuing networking opportunities for young people who want to live in Marion and Grant County."
